Raising The BAR

If you are looking to use bars in place of a meal to get the protein you need after a workout , look for bars that have 10-15 grams of protein.

Protein needs increase with exercise and it really does not matter if you are strength training or training for endurance. However, keep in mind that the word energy on a package of an "energy" bar means the bar has calories not that it will give you energy. If you need energy, eat. Another thing to keep in mind is that these bars are expensive, despite the fact that they have added vitamins, many are loaded with additional fat and sugar that you simply do not need.

Bottom line, eat real food, pop a vitamin pill and there is your energy/protein  "bar" so to speak. Remember, Eat Well, Be FIT~1FITrd
